Charlotte Sue Hokit was born May 2, 1949 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas one of three children born to Pearl Thelma (Sutton) and Fred Page Carson. The family moved to Wasco when Charlotte was an infant and she grew up in Wasco attending local elementary schools and graduating from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1967. Charlotte worked for over 30 years doing contract delivery in rural Wasco for the Post Office. She also worked as a waitress for Burns Bros Truck Stop. Charlotte was formerly married to Larry Hokit. After retiring, Charlotte moved to Tehachapi and she kept herself busy crafting. She attended church at Grace Fellowship. Charlotte loved being with her family and her granddaughter was the most important part of her life. Charlotte was preceded in death by her son, Jody Shaun Ingram on May 22, 2005; parents, Fred and Pearl Carson; brother, Fred Carson, Jr.; and sister, Patricia Ann Johnson. She is survived by her granddaughter, Sara Marline Byrd-Ingram; aunts, Velma Mason and Bobby Hallmark; niece, Shelley Carr; nephews, Timothy and Joel Johnson; and half-sisters, Judy Ball, Marsha Dill and Betty Seymour; and half-brother, Danny Lawrence. Interment will be at Wasco Memorial Park at a later date.
