Charles Daniel Price was born June 23, 1930 in Hornersville, Missouri to Merrill Mae (Hester) and Charlie Daniel Price. He came to Arvin in 1945 at the age of 15, attended and graduated from Bakersfield High School. After enlisting and serving with the U.S. Army, Charles took a leave to marry his high school sweetheart, Beta (Royal), returned to serve his country and was wounded in action. Charles was a maintenance/repairman with Stockdale Country Club. Some of Charles' hobbies included fishing, camping and woodwork. His sons remember some of the good fishing trips they took with dad. Woodshop was a favorite class he took in high school and that inspired him to build cabinets and furniture for his home. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Beta Lou (November 2009); brother Wilson (1998). He is survived by his sons Randell and wife Connie Price and Gerald Price; brother Earl and wife Nellie Price; sister-in-law Joan Price; grandchildren Jacen and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Devon, Caleb, Carter, Kylie and Calvin; many nieces, nephews and good friends. Brother Dennis Mantooth of Apostolic Tabernacle will officiate a Chapel service Wednesday, January 20, 2010 – 1pm for Charles Daniel Price, age 79, at South Kern Cemetery District. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19th from 2 to 7pm at Arvin Funeral Home.
