Charles Franklin White was born on May 6, 1932, and went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2007. "Chuck" was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Glen and Thelma White. He moved to California at the age of nine. Upon graduation from Hoover High School in Glendale, California, he went on to receive his Associate of Arts Degree from Glendale College. Chuck worked for Singer Librascope for 40 years starting his career in the mail room and retired as Manager of Data Processing. Chuck was an avid football fan, so much so, he spent 30 years as a California Football Official. He was active in Grace Baptist Church in Newhall as an Elder and Deacon for 30 years and upon moving to Shafter served in the same capacity. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Scott. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ardath Ann; daughters, Susan Warren and husband, Jeff, and Sheryl Kelley and husband, Jim; son, Steven White and wife, Deedee; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, who knew him only as "Popo"; step-mother, Katherine; brother, Jerry and wife, Janice; sister, MaryLynn and husband, Allen; brother-in-law, Merton and wife along with several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and loved ones. A memorial service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Dr. Bakersfield, on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 11am, for Charles "Chuck" White, age 75, of Shafter. Pastor Jeff Beckwith of Grace Baptist Church of Santa Clarita and Pastor Steve Downs of Riverlakes Community Church will officiate at the service.
