Charles "Chuck " Lee Benedict, a native and 63-year resident of California and a 12-year resident of Arizona, died Jan. 6, 2009, at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was 75 years old. Mr.. Benedict was born Dec. 26, 1933. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was employed by GTE for 41 years before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Benedict and Neva Adermatt. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Benedict of Joshua Tree; children Gary and Gisele Benedict of Joshua Tree and grandchildren Thorin, Chase, Coy and Erin Benedict; children JC and Grace Benedict of Santa Maria and grandchildren Kami, Nick, Patricia and Kristina Benedict; children Ron and Toni Benedict of Costa Mesa; brother Larry Benedict of Joshua Tree; brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph and Leslie Benedict of Houston, Texas, Faye Heath of Sebastopol and Larry and Cindy Heath of Phelan. A party in Mr. Benedict's honor will be held sometime in the future.
