The family of Charles Richard Brown, a longtime resident of Yucca Valley, is saddened to announce the passing of Rick on Aug. 6, 2017. He was 63 years old. He was the son of Joseph R. Brown and Betty J. Brown (Latham) of Newark, Ohio. Rick served in the U.S. Air Force for six years, making staff sergeant. Rick worked for the Show Factory, the Annenberg Theater and the Rock Garden over many years. Rick was a member of St. Mary of the Valley Church. He is survived by a 10-year-old son, Ricardo Raphael Brown Mendivil; his brother, Joseph R. Brown Jr., and wife Tomi Brown; and his stepdaughter, Liz Mendivil. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at St. Mary of the Valley Church in Yucca Valley. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Mary's.
