IN LOVING MEMORY OF
'Charlene' Candace
Claffy
May 13, 2014 – September 5, 2014
Candace "Charlene" Claffy was born in Bakersfield, California on September 5, 1967 to Charles John Claffy and Candace L. (Mason) Claffy. Charlene worked in the transportation department of the Kern High School District for approximately 15 years. She was 46 years old when she passed away on May 13, 2014 in Bakersfield, California. Charlene was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and is survived by her two sons and daughter Ryan Austin Brown, Jacob Tyler Brown and Madison Raylene Claffy-Shipp. Charlene was involved in numerous activities with her older brother, Robert W. Claffy, at a young age. She grew up in Rosedale 4-H, Played soccer for AYSO and was a cheerleader at Rio Bravo Elementary during the 7th and 8th grade. Later, she attended Bakersfield High School where she became heavily involved in FFA, softball and soccer. Charlene was the type of person that could make friends with anyone and could light a room with her smile. Those who knew her know what a loving, caring person she was and how making friends with her meant making a friend for life. Her love was truly unconditional. Although Charlene was recognized for many things throughout her life, her greatest accomplishment was the love and support she had for her children. Whether it was hosing mud off of Ryan after a rainy soccer game, helping Jacob rehearse for a new role or planning a sleepover with Madison; she was always there to encourage her children. Her positive spirit, sense of humor and huge heart will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Charlene's viewing will be at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter from 9am-2pm on Monday May 19, 2014 and the graveside service will be immediately following at the Shafter Memorial Park
