Celestino Ureña of Buttonwillow passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 90, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Michoacán, México on March 18, 1935 to Francisco Ureña and Refugio Marquez.

He worked as a farm laborer for 40 years. He loved to spend his time with family, gardening and weaving chairs, a skill he learned while living in Oaxaca, México.

Survived by his 8 children, Roberto (Paola), Lupe (Miguel), Elvira (Santos), Asusena (Reynaldo), Antonio (Aleyda), Alisia (Manuel), Francisco and Jose (Niña), he leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Celestino was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Matthew Alexander Gracia, and brothers Juan Urena and Miguel Urena.
