Carroll Irl Greer, age 89, died Feb. 19, 2009, at the Odyssey House in Palm Desert. Mr. Greer was born on Aug. 17, 1919. He worked as an independent life and health insurance broker for 60 years. He will be remembered for his World War II Army service and being a member of the Rotary Club, Humane Society and Toastmasters. His passions included traveling abroad, reading library books, working on his computer, sports viewing, fishing and daily walks with his dog, Sheba. Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his son, Robert Greer, and his wife, Irene. He is survived by his sister, Eunice Stevenson; his children with first wife Shirley: Cynthia Conwell, Bradley Greer and Scott Greer; stepdaughter Sharon Green; daughters-in-law Sherry, Connie and Lynne; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Yucca Valley. Gifts in his remembrance may be sent to the Humane Society of Yucca Valley and the Rotary Club of Yucca Valley.
