Carol Ann Hess January 15, 1944 - May 26, 2020 She left the world on the wings of an Angel on May 26th 2020. She went peacefully, at home, in Bakersfield, CA, surrounded by her family. She was born in Seattle, WA to Jack Woods and Marion Rohrbach. Carol retired from the United States Postal Service and before that worked for the Bureau of Land Management. She teamed up with a friend whom she called a sister, Sheila Hayden and was the Sparkle in their cleaning business called Sparkle and Shine. First Christian Church was one of their favorite places to clean. She was a graduate of Shafter High and still has a life long friend Judy Gunderson from Fall City, WA. She also attended Cosmetology School. It was said that Carol looked like Marilyn Monroe and often dressed like her to do fundraisers in the community. Anyone who knew her, loved her. If you needed her, She was there. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Woods and Marion Rohrbach, stepfather, Tillmenn Lehr and son, Jack Woods. She is survived by brother, Michael Woods, daughter, Lori Hiler, son, Greg Hiler, grandchildren, Blake (Allie), Blanton, Breanne Hiler, Kyle (Raven) Hiler, great grandchildren, Carter, Drew, Luke and Avery. and many lifelong friends, Caroline Stoops, Pat Taylor, Linda and Anthony
