Carlos Sanchez was born April 20, 1938 to Carlos and Maria (Fernandez) Sanchez in Bakersfield, California. He grew up in Bakersfield and attended Bakersfield schools. Carlos first worked in farm labor and then many years in the laundry for Bakersfield Uniform and Towel Supply. He retired in 1993. Carlos was an avid 49er fan and also enjoyed watching boxing on TV. He always looked forward to the family gatherings. Carlos will be remembered for being a kind and generous man. Carlos is survived by his son, Tommy Sanchez & wife Shondraya; daughters, Debbie and Denise Sanchez; brothers, Henry Sanchez & wife Terry, Johnny Sanchez & wife Connie; sisters, Connie Gallardo, Toni Aros & husband Robert and Mary Cruz Saldana & husband Joe; grandchildren, Carlos, Chris, Michael, Matthew, Vanessa, Eric, Paul, Jessica, Jamy; great grandchildren, Layla Rain Garcia and Danny Nevel; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, Carlos Sanchez, Sr., and Maria Ureno, a daughter Karen Ann and grandson, Daniel Romo preceded him in death. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Monday, May 7, at 7PM at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, 620 Oregon St., Bakersfield for Carlos Sanchez, age 69, of Bakersfield who passed away May 3, in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said, Tuesday, May 8 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, May 7, from 2pm – 8pm At Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary. Serving as casket bearers are Michael Sanchez, Christopher Garcia, Paul Hidalgo, Bobby Aros, Rick Saldana, Joey Saldana, Mathew Romo, Eric Romo, Ralph Rodriguez, Eric Sanchez.
