IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Candido
Costa
April 30, 1946 – November 11, 2017
Candido Costa was born on April 30, 1946 in the village of Agualva on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Portugal. He was the eldest of nine children in a time of extreme poverty, and those struggles instilled in him the values and work ethic that would serve him well throughout his life. After marrying a girl from the same village, he emigrated to the United States in the early seventies and made his living as a cow milker in Southern California. In the mid-eighties Candido went into business for himself. Over the course of the next 27 years his dairy farm and ranching business grew. Candido eventually moved his farm to Wasco, and was a proud member of that local agricultural community from 2001-2012. He was known as a honest and giving man, as well as being tough but fair. He did not mince words, but you could always count on him to do exactly what he said. He had an intense devotion to his family, whom he leaves behind: his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth, his two grown sons, Candido Jr. and Frank grandchildren, Nathan and Tayler Costa. Candido went to be with God on November 11, 2017, and he will be sorely missed. We love you, Pai.
