Calvin Lloyd Wren was born December 18, 1966 in Bakersfield, California to Carl and Nelda (Pender) Wren. He grew up in Arvin and graduated from Arvin High School with the Class of 1985, where he was crowned the Prom King. Calvin married Viola Galaviz October 23, 1994 in Las Vegas wearing his beloved Elvis Presley Tie as part of his wedding attire. He was employed by CarQuest as a sales rep and covered the Lamont, Arvin, Tehachapi and Delano areas. Everyone knew when Calvin was coming because his whistle preceded him. He was a people person who never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. Calvin was always happy and loved telling jokes. He served his community by coaching the Arvin Little League and Arvin Grizzlies Youth Football Club. He loved his church the New Life Church of God and was a part of the Prodigals Motorcycle Club. Calvin is survived by his wife of 12 years, Viola Wren of Arvin; children, Cody Weller, Calvin Wyatt Wren, Carl Kit Wren and Natalie Wren; father, Carl Ray Wren; brothers Carl Ray Wren & wife Kristie of Arizona, and Charles Wren of Bakersfield; sister, Carla Chrissey & husband Dale of Georgia and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 22 at 10am at River of Life Church, 8510 Weedpatch Hwy. Bakersfield, Ca. 93307 followed by a graveside committal at South Kern Cemetery District, Arvin. A visitation will be held at Arvin Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 21 from 2pm to 8pm.
