Resident of Shafter, California for over 60 years Blanche passed away of natural causes surrounded by her loving family on December 16, 2018 in Shafter, California. Blanche was 95. Blanche was born in Bakersfield, California on June 8, 1923. She was the youngest of nine children born to Alice and James Cremer. Blanche was raised in Bakersfield where she graduated from Kern County High School, and Bakersfield College. She met her future husband Capt. Lee R Stepp at a USO dance at Gardner Field near Taft, California during World War II. They were married in Bakersfield, California in 1945. They spent 53 happy years together. After raising their three three children, Blanche volunteered and then went to work as the secretary for St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Shafter where she remained for nearly 30 years.
