Billy Wayne Lane August 5, 1949 – March 10, 2012 Billy Wayne Lane was born August 5, 1949 in Shafter to Velma and Floyd Lane. Bill attended Shafter schools and entered into the U.S. Marines in 1968 and serviced his country proud in Vietnam until 1969 when he was honorably discharged. After leaving the service Bill owned and operated his own trucks and also worked for various different trucking companies for the next 40 years. Bill's favorite things in life were his family, driving trucks, riding horses and he was a hard worker all his life. Bill was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Heather Wilton and Becky Lane, grandchildren, Kyle, U.S. Marine active duty, Katelyn, Kacey, Sheldon, and Jake; sister, Elnora Inman and husband Charles of Alaska; sister-in-law, Marie Lane of New Mexico; nephews, Marshall Sexton, T.J. Lane, Mike Inman, Jody Inman, Billy Braisher; nieces, Debra Hill, Mary Gregg, Kim Smith, Susan Ray and Patty Lane. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Lane; mother, Velma Lane; brothers, Eddie and Jack Lane; sister, Vivian Sexton; brother-in-law, Raymond Sexton; and sister-in-law, Charlene Lane. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10am at Peters Funeral Home for Billy Wayne Lane, age 62, of Shafter who passed away March 10, 2012 in Bakersfield.
