Billy Wayne Foster was born October 7, 1941 in Bakersfield, California to Jonah and Anna (Blackman) Foster, one of three sons. He attended Shafter elementary schools and graduated from Shafter High School with the Class of 1959. Billy served his country in the US Army from 1964 to 1970. Billy and Linda Kay Thomas were married July 19, 1971 in Las Vegas and continued to make Shafter their home. Billy worked as a maintenance mechanic for Ranchers Cotton Oil for many years and then for Consolidated Fiberglas retiring in 1999. Billy was a member of the Shafter Christian Fellowship and the Shafter American Legion, Leon J. Morgan Post 865. Billy enjoyed hunting and camping at Greenhorn and Lake Tahoe; his family will miss these outings. Billy was a loving husband to Linda for 36 years; loving dad to Randy Foster and wife Angie of Shafter, Paul Foster and wife Elise of South Carolina and Cindy Brown and husband Duncan of Missouri; loving grandpa to Tylor, Zach, Ashley, Benjamin, Johnathan, Joshua, Tori, Alissa and T.J; he is also survived by 1 nephew, Kenny Foster of Woody. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter will be held on Wednesday, March 26 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park for Billy Wayne Foster, age 66, of Shafter who passed away March 20 in Bakersfield. Pastor Gene Lawrence of the Shafter Christian Fellowship will officiate the service and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Hom
