Obituary

Billie passed away at 12:15 pm Friday, after a long stay at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility in Bakersfield. She was born to Archie and Chloe Williams in Eufaula, Oklahoma, where she attended local schools. After high school, she migrated to Lodi, California where she met and married Homer Dye. After World War Two, Billie and Homer moved to the Lamont –Arvin area where she was the owner/operator of a women's clothing store and beauty salon. Later she furthered her education and became the Director of the Kern County Heart Association for several years. After retiring from the Heart Association, she worked as a real estate agent. Later in life she remarried. Billie married Thurman Coy and resided in Lodi, California before moving back to Bakersfield. Her husband, parents, sister Nadine Winters and son Jim Dye preceded Billie in death. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Nousch and husband Robert; four grandchildren, Eric and Jeff Nousch; Bryan Dye and Casey Strickland of Bakersfield. She leaves behind many good friends. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary will be held in the Outdoor Chapel at the Arvin Cemetery Thursday, February 25th at 2:00 pm.
