Beulah Ann (Baxa) Byrd was born in Albion, Kansas, to Mathew and Anna Baxa on May 30, 1922. She moved to Bakersfield in her early 20's. She met Floyd Byrd while working as a nurse and they were married in 1955, and they moved to Wasco shortly after their marriage. Beulah also worked for a time for an insurance company. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; 2 sons, Larry and Steven James. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Wiseman of Palmdale; brother, Wesley Baxa; 4 grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Michael and Mark James; and numerous great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home was held at Shafter Memorial Park on Friday, September 7, 2007, at 10am, for Beulah Ann Byrd, age 85, of Shafter, who passed away September 4, 2007, in Shafter.
