Betty E. Scales, matriarch of the Scales family of Wasco California, was born February 26, 1924 in Orient, South Dakota went home to be with our Lord on November 11, 2010 in Shafter California. Married to Elmer Scales June 1st 1944 she (they) lived in several areas before settling in Wasco, California in 1957 where she raised her family of five children and was an active member of her local Parrish. Betty Leaves sister Loraine, daughter-in-law Diana, son Mark and his wife Sheila, daughter Mary, daughter Ann and her husband Kip, son John and his wife Julie, grandchildren Justin, Amber, Michael, Josh and Jennifer, great grandchild Sebastian, many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends and loved ones. In passing Betty joins her husband of 63 years along with their son Joey. Betty's smile, sense of humor, and positivity, will be greatly missed, especially as the Holidays near when her home made cookies and pies were the centerpiece of the numerous family gatherings she hosted as well as her beautiful gifts of crocheted blankets and throws. The family would like to thank the ladies of Carrington of Shafter and Dr. Bob Hagen for the care and compassion they showed to Betty over the past 3 years and especially in her final days. Recitation of the Holy Rosary followed by A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:30am for Betty E. Scales, age 86, of Wasco, who passed away November 11, 2010 in Shafter. Msgr. Stephen Frost will officiate the service. A visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 3-8 pm.
