Betty Jean Key was born August 29, 1929 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to Minnie (Benson) and Earl Dollar. Betty grew up and attended schools in Arkansas. Betty married Floyd Key March 30, 1946 and they moved to Arizona for a short time before settling in Wasco in 1950. Betty worked as a waitress for over 50 years, working at the Wasco Inn and Cinderella Café. Floyd passed away in 1986 and in 1996 Betty moved to Hanford. Betty moved to Santa Maria in 2007. Betty is survived by 2 sons, 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and a third great-grandchild on the way; 2 sisters. Betty was preceded in death by one son, Billy Key in 2007. Graveside services under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held Thursday, April 14 at Wasco Memorial Park for Betty Jean Key, age 81, who passed away April 6, 2011. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, at Peters Funeral Home from 4pm – 8pm.
