Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife and friend drew her last breath on January 23, 2023 in Bakersfield California.

Welcoming her home to Heaven were her parents, daughter Lori, Sister Christine, Brothers Roy, Bud and Jim, and her husband Jim.

Betty was born on June 12, 1935 to Allen and Maye Smith in Wilburton Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Shafter, CA in the early 1940's. Betty was a graduate of Shafter High School in 1953. Working as an Office Manager for Lane Farms and IFG for many years, Betty was never too busy to be a mom first and help with her families activities. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and was always up for a good chat on the phone.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lisa and Steve, granddaughters, Ashley, Paige, April and Jenna, great grandchildren, Christian, Keeley, Kaelynn, Cody, and Theodore. Those she has left behind, including extended family and friends will miss her deeply and always cherish her memory.

Thank you to the amazing staff at Magnolia Place who not only made Betty's final days comfortable, but made the transition for the family as peaceful as possible. We will always remember the love, friendship, and kindness shown by everyone who walked into her room and our lives. Your selflessness towards Betty was our honor to witness.

We would also like to thank the staff with Hoffman Hospice for their caring and guidance on this journey.
