Betty Evelyn Camp, of Fresno, CA, passed away on June 23, 2011. She was born in Gaffney, South Carolina, on July 17, 1928, the second daughter of James and Lula Albright. Betty moved to Wasco upon her marriage to John Camp on August 29, 1950 where she spent the next 59 years before moving to Fresno in 2009 to be nearer to family. While in Wasco, Betty attended the First Methodist Church, was an active member of the Wasco Women's Club and added her lively good humor to many gatherings. When asked recently to give her vocation, she replied, "joke telling." She was preceded in death by husband John Melton Camp and son John Samuel Camp; along with two sisters, Margaret Phillips and Mary Wood and brother Bob Albright all of South Carolina. She is survived by a sister, Sue Lewis of North Augusta, South Carolina; daughter Patti Patrick and her husband Randy of Fresno, CA; grandchildren John Francis Camp and wife Stephanie of Visalia; Jennifer Lynes and fiancé Tim Washum of Bakersfield; Kathryn Patrick of Castro Valley, CA; Elizabeth Patrick of Loma Linda, CA; and Daniel Patrick of San Luis Obispo, CA; along with four great grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Teagen and John Race. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the First Methodist Church, Wasco. Internment will be private. Remembrances can be made to the First Methodist Church, Wasco or a favorite charity.
