Betty Maxine Caldwell Haworth, 89, of Bakersfield CA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was born in Girard, Kansas to Allen R. and Mabel A. Basham on April 9, 1927. Until her illness, Betty loved the Dodgers, dancing and traveling, especially to casinos. However, her passion revolved around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty made many lifelong friends during her 29 years of service with the Kern County Sheriff's Department. She was proceeded in death by her brother, William Ray Basham. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Raymond Haworth; her children Sandra (Wes) Shuman and Bill (Jeannette) Caldwell; Granddaughter Tish (Mel) Russell; Great Grandmother to Sydnee (Rich) Wagoner and Brody Russell. Betty is also survived by step-children Laurie (Ted) McLemore, David (Christine) Haworth and many step grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was the loving sister-in-law to Dorothy L. Basham and aunt to William Allen Basham. Her smile and laughter will be missed, but her memory will live on in all of the people she has touched over the years. There will be a graveside service at Shafter Memorial Park, 18662 Santa Fe Way, Shafter CA on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
