Bertha Alice Houston 1936 – 2015 Bertha was born October 27, 1936 in Houston, Texas. She passed away January 22, 2015 in Bakersfield, California. Bertha was raised in Dallas Texas and came to Shafter, California in 1976. She married Nathaniel Houston in Los Angeles on February 12, 1971. She worked for the United States Post Master as a letter handler for 29 years and also taught medical assistants at San Joaquin Valley College. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. Bertha also enjoyed crocheting and making crafts. She was a member of Church of Christ Westside.
