Bernice was born in the village of Mayberry, Nebraska to Charles and Flora Story. The Story family moved to Seneca Kansas and in 1931 Bernice graduated from Seneca High School. In 1933 Bernice married Roland J. Schuetz later in June of 1939 Bernice and her husband moved to Bakersfield. Bernice had a great sense of humor and will greatly be missed by all of her family and friends. Bernice is preceded in death by her husband Roland J. Schuetz; a daughter, Karen Breusing Foland; her two brothers, Ferrel Story and Charles W. "Bill" Story; two sisters, Belva Henson and Virginia "Ginger" Johns. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Steiner; grandsons, Michael T. Steiner and his wife Carol, Timothy Steiner and Curt Breusing; granddaughter, Kristen Millner and husband Mark; great-grandsons, Bryan Steiner and Hayden Millner; and great-granddaughters, Hannah Millner and Ashley Breusing. Recitation of the Holy Rosary followed with a Mass of a Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 10am, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael T. Steiner, Bryan Steiner, Timothy Steiner, Curt Breusing, Mark Millner, Kevin Johns and Deron Johns.
