Belia Gonzalez de Hernandez was born February 26, 1921 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Rames and Juliana Gonzalez. She came to Shafter in 1961 and raised her family. Belia enjoyed going to the casinos. She was a happy lady and loved to make her grandsons laugh. She will be loved and missed by all the family. Belia was preceded in death by her husband, Venancio Hernandez. She is survived by her daughters, Olga Carranza, Yolanda Velez, Irma Ochoa, Teresa Rodriguez; sisters, Dora, Lupita and Nina; brother, Beto; 25 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Holy Rosary was recited Wednesday, February 20 at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Belia Gonzalez, age 91, who passed away February 18, 2013 in Bakersfield. Burial will be at Garza Gonzalez Cementerio Municipal, Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
