In loving memory of Beatrice Avila, she has passed after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Beatrice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who went to heaven on February 15, 2012. Beatrice is survived by her husband, Arthur Avila, who was the love of her life for 46 years; 4 children, Arthur Avila Jr., Daniel Avila and his wife Dionna, Elaine and her husband Paul Garcia, Emily Avila and Reynaldo Gutierrez; 7 grandchildren Thomas, Andrew and Alyssa Avila, Jamie and Joey Garcia, Elias and Olivia Gutierrez; 2 great grandchildren, Andrew Daniel Avila II and Isaiah Daniel Avila. Her parents Angel Cervantes and Martha Alvarez and sister Francis Arreola preceded her in death. She is also survived by her brothers Ray Soto and wife Eva; Angel Cervantes and wife Maria; sisters, Evelyn Val Verde and husband Reynaldo, Carrie Quintana and husband Anthony and multiple nieces and nephews. Beatrice was born in Bakersfield CA where she enjoyed her entire life. She was a beautiful compassionate woman. Beatrice was a caretaker provider, helping those in need. She was a strong-willed woman with a big heart. In addition to being a loving wife and mother she worked as a housekeeper and at Kmart for over 20 years. Her greatest joys in life were her family and her faith in the Lord. Our greatest joy was Beatrice, the center of our family. Beatrice was a beautiful woman who also had a beautiful spirit. We miss her more than words can say. Beatrice will forever live in our hearts and memories. Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11am at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23 at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary from 5 to 8pm.
