April 24, 1923 – February 28, 2010
Baudelio Avalos was born April 24, 1923 to Guadalupe (Viveros) and Pablo Avalos in Lagos de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico. He was one of 4 brothers and 1 sister. Baudelio came to California in 1953 to Lodi, then Pond and finally settled in Wasco in the sixties. He worked in agriculture for over 50 years many of those years with Merz Farms. He married Maria Aguilar and she passed away in May 1978, leaving him to raise their daughter, Jossie by himself. He was a caring father and mother to Jossie and devoted his life to her. He later married Maria G. Campos in 1998. Baudelio loved working in his garden, taking care of the flowers and landscaping. He had a green thumb and harvested delicious fruit from his trees which he was generous in sharing with family and friends. Every morning he went for coffee to the Shell Station. Baudelio is survived by his wife Maria Guadalupe Avalos; daughter, Jossie and husband Leonardo Velazquez; grandchildren, Cynthia and Fabian, all of Wasco; and a host of friends. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 4 at 10am at St. Therese's Church, Shafter. Fr. Pedro Umana will officiate and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park.
