Basilia Martinez was born December 16, 1948 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and after retiring moved to Shafter in August of 2002 to be near family. She lived an active life despite of her health limitations. Her passion was her family as she always had a great heart for everyone; her hobby was to socialize and spend time with her friends She is survived by her husband, Jorge Martinez of Shafter; children, Martin Quintero of Bakersfield, Daniel Quintero of Wasco, Maria and Graciela Martinez, both of Shafter; sister, Martha Gallegos of Wasco; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She will be missed and fore ever remembered. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, October 20 at 6:30pm at Peters Funeral Home for Basilia Martinez, age 62, of Shafter who passed away October 16, 2011 in Las Vegas. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said Friday, October 21 at 10am at St. Therese's Church. Fr. Pedro Umana will officiate and inurnment will be private.
