Bart "Phil" Delcid was born October 8, 1936 in Bakersfield. He attended St. Josephs and East High School. Right out of high school Bartolo joined the military and proudly served 14 years attaining the rank of Corporal Staff Sergeant and Drill Instructor with the United States Marine Corp. He retired from the Kern High School District in December 2001. Bartolo is preceded in death by his parents Bartolo and Catarina Delcid; brother, Larry Lopez; and sisters, Helen and Yvonne. He is survived by his wife Olga; children, Martin Delcid, Teresa and David Sierra, Steven Delcid, Martha and Russell Ragsdale, Kathryn Limones, and Patricia Delcid; brother, Fred Lopez; sisters, Kathy Chavez, Rose Cavillo and Ruby Cavillo; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Phil was a fun and loving father, friend and Dad who was so proud of his family. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished. A very special thanks to our loving family, San Joaquin Hospital staff and Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary for all of their kind help. Visitation for Bartolo will be held at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 2-8 pm with a service beginning at 7pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be immediately followed by Mass of the Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 21 at 10am. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
