Bartholomew Robinson was born November 6, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey to Bartholomew and Nellie (Liedig) Robinson. He came to California in 1978, first to Merced, then Los Angeles and settling in Arvin. Bartholomew married his late wife Evelyn Robinson on December 14, 1956 and she passed away in 1994. He worked as a custodian for Los Angeles School District and in farm labor while living in Arvin. Bartholomew liked to tease everyone and was a flirt with the ladies. He attended the Freewill Baptist Church until his health failed. While in Los Angles Bartholomew was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Bartholomew liked to cook, spaghetti and steak were the family favorites but he was a soup lover. He always had soup available for anyone who was hungry, even when times were hard. Bartholomew is survived by three sons, Bart Robinson, Michael Robinson and wife, Julie, Patrick Robinson; daughter, Catherine Fraser and husband Dean; two sisters, Lorraine and Catherine; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Arvin Funeral Home will be conducting a graveside service on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 10AM at South Kern Cemetery District for Bartholomew Robinson, age 70, who passed away August 4, 2008 in Los Angeles. Pastor Mark McGinty will officiate and interment will follow. There was a visitation held Friday, August 8, 2008 from 2-8pm at Arvin Funeral Home.
