Barbara Del (Schutte) Simpkins was born January 18, 1940 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior May 7, 2013. She was 73 years young. Barbara was born in Minnesota to Ralph and Ermadel Schutte and was the second of four children, 3 girls and 1 boy. She moved to Sylmar, California with her family in 1947 and attended Morning Side grade school and San Fernando Junior and High Schools, graduating in 1958. She met the love of her life at church in 1955 to whom she was married to for almost 54 years (August). They had three children, 2 girls and one boy. They moved to Wasco in 1968 where they have resided until her passing where she went peacefully in her home. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling in their motor home, camping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was known as Grammy to her family and crocheted Christmas stockings for everyone of them. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Harold of Wasco; sisters, Phyllis Scholl and husband Rudy of Grover Beach; Carol Moree of Santa Maria; brother, Loren Schutte and wife Kathy of Golden Valley, AZ; daughter, Sandra Rhea and husband Kevin of Bakersfield; son, Harold, Jr. (Bud) Simpkins of Harrisburg, PA; daughter, Teresa Blevins and husband Mike, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Ralph and Ermadel Schutte, grandson Joseph Simpkins and daughter-in-law Priscilla Simpkins. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, at 10am at Wasco First Assembly of God Church for Barbara Del Simpkins, age 73, of Wasco. Pastor Billie Goins will officiate the service. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12 at Peters Funeral Home from 2pm to 8pm.
