Aurora Aguilar Lopez January 18, 1924 – January 8, 2012 Aurora Aguilar Lopez has closed her eyes forever on January 8, 2012. She is now joined with her husband in the presence of the Lord. Aurora was born in Nelson, Arizona, on, January 18, 1924, to Manuel and Catalina (Saucedo) Aguilar. Aurora married the love of her life, Johnnie G. Lopez, in San Bernardino in 1945. The couple then made Bakersfield their home. Aurora was a patient and faithful woman; her daily routine always included attending Mass, and she was also a proud member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She loved music, and she especially enjoyed playing guitar and keyboard. She also enjoyed gardening and playing Bingo. Her family members will miss her homemade tortillas, which were the best ever. Aurora is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnnie G. Lopez; and her siblings, Herlinda Botello, Ynes Aguilar, Refujio Aguilar, Joe Aguilar and Manuel Aguilar. She is survived by her children, Johnnie A. Lopez and wife Sharon, Rosie Martinez and Mike Diaz, Jerome Martinez; a brother, John Aguilar; sisters, Charlotte Martinez and Consuelo Davis; grandchildren, Marcus and wife Megan Lopez, Trisha Lopez, Monica Martinez and Lana Martinez; great grandchildren, Tyler, Sebastian, Nathan, Jaidyn and Lea; many long time friends and acquaintances, as well as extended family members. Visitation for Aurora will be held at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, on Thursday, January 12, 2012, from 5-8pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, on Friday, January 13, 2012, beginning at 10:30am; Father Chummar Chriyath will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
