Aurelia M. Rico was born in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Juan and Isabel Alcantar, on November 28, 1919. She married Asuncion Rico and they shared 25 happy years together before his death in 1978. Aurelia moved to Wasco in 1987. Aurelia enjoyed life and was happiest when tending to her home, she loved cleaning and washing dishes, working in her garden and spending time with her family. Aurelia was preceded in death by her husband, Asuncion; parents Juan and Isabel; 2 infant daughters; 1 son, Fermin Rico (1999); and 4 siblings. She is survived by her son, Pedro Alcantar of Juarez Mexico; daughters, Maria D. Alcantar of Wasco, and Maria Isabel Alcantar of Idaho; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other loving family members. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held at St. John's Catholic Church on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 6pm, for Aurelia M. Rico, age 88, of Wasco, who passed away March 4, 2008, in Delano. A Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 10am. Father John Fluetsch of St. John's Catholic Church officiated the service and interment followed at Wasco Memorial Park.
