Ashley Nicole Heriford was born in Bakersfield, on September 11, 1985, to Jeffrey and Cheryl Heriford. She was raised in Shafter and graduated from Shafter High School. She fought a valiant fight against cancer and never let it get her down. She lived her life making each moment count. She enjoyed being her father's best friend, her mother's wonderful daughter. Ashley was a true Elvis Pressley fanatic; even naming her dog and constant companion, Elvis. She loved shopping and owned just about every piece of clothing available in every color available. She enjoyed participating in the Shafter Junior Miss Program. Ashley was an excellent softball player and missed playing. Ashley is survived by her parents, Jeff Heriford and Cheryl Taylor; grandparents, Jerry and Linda Taylor all of Shafter; sisters, Natalie Brooke of Shafter and Whitney Heriford of Wasco. A chapel service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Ashley Nicole "Peany" Heriford, age 21, on Monday, November 27, 2006, at 10am; interment will follow at . Pastor Tom Baker of the Home Fellowship Church will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006, from 2-8pm, at Peters Funeral Home.
