Arturo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, who went to Heaven on May 21, 2013. Arturo was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Avila, who was the love of his life for 46 years, his parents, Daniel and Guadalupe Avila; brother, Ramiro Avila; and sister, Sara Avila. He is survived by his 4 children, Arthur Avila Jr., Daniel Avila, Elaine Garcia, and Emily Avila; 7 grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, and Alyssa Avila, Jamie and Joey Garcia, Elias and Olivia Gutierrez; 4 great grandchildren Andrew Daniel Avila II, Isaiah Daniel Avila, Adrien Avila, and Jayden Newman. He is also survived by his brothers, Tomas Avila, Ernesto Avila; sisters, Esperanza Gutierrez, Angelina Lopez, Minnie Avila and numerous nephews and nieces. Arturo was born in Laredo, Texas, but resided in Bakersfield, California his entire life. Arturo was a compassionate man who was a man of many trades and had an ability to fix pretty much everything! He worked for J. Noble Binns. Arturo was hardworking, dedicated, working long hours and retired after 20+ years as a construction laborer for ARB with the Laborers International Union of North America Local 220 of Bakersfield. His greatest joys were his family and close friends. We Love you Dad and you will be greatly missed. We know you are at peace and in Love again with our Mom Beatrice, up in Heaven. Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 28 at 7pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter for Arthur Avila, age 65, of Bakersfield. A graveside will be held at Union Cemetery on Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 11am. A visitation will be held Tuesday beginning at 4pm at Peters Funeral Home.
