Arleigh Eugene Johnson was born September 23, 1938, to Nick and Ellen Johnson. Arleigh lived in Shafter most of his life. Arleigh was known as a great artist, he enjoyed bartending, food service and gardening. Anything Arleigh did was meticulous. He had a great sense of humor; no one told a joke like Arleigh. Arleigh is survived by his love of many years, Joanne Guey-Mock and their grandson, Ethan Guey-Mock, who called him "Papa". He is also survived by sisters, Bonnie Colvard of Texas, and Carol Ary of Shafter; brother, James Crane of Sacramento; and step-sister, Shirley Deopere; numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. A funeral service will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2008, at 10am, for Arleigh "Papa" Johnson, age 69, of Shafter, who passed away March 3, 2008, in Bakersfield.
