April Rose Dunlap was born in Bakersfield, California on November 30, 1983 to Billy Eugene Dunlap and Traci J. (Spille) Rueda. April attended Shafter schools and was involved in 4H and participated in sewing and arts and crafts. During High School she was on the swim team, ROTC and studied at one of the local Bakersfield hospitals. After high school April earned her Bachelors' Degree in Art History. April was employed at Kmart in Wasco for many years. She also was employed at the American Nostalgia Racing Association as an all around go to person, and also a substitute teacher for a short time. April was recently employed at Wal-Mart as the Department Manager for Arts and Crafts. April was an avid reader, loved the Japanese culture, Anime, and was a gamer. She was 30 years old when she passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 in Bakersfield, California. April is survived by her mother Traci Rueda, and step-father Pete Rueda; father Billy Dunlap and step-mother Janie Dunlap; sister Susan Dunlap; grandparents Butch and Diana Headrick, James and Mary Spille; godparents and uncle Michael and aunt Loree Diaz; uncle Matthew and aunt Carey Wagner; uncle Jim Spille and aunt Katie Spille; cousins Joshua Wagner, Devin Spille and Desirae Spille. A Funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wasco, California on Monday January 13, 2014 at 10am preceded by a visitation on Sunday January 12, 2014 from 12noon to 6pm. April was laid to rest on Monday January 13, 2014 at Shafter Memorial Park immediately following the Funeral services.
