Obituary

Antonia Escalante Beltran passed away quietly in her home on June 22, 2011; born in Bakersfield California on May 25, 1930 to Rafaela (Lucero) and Francisco Escalante, she migrated to Kern County with her parents. She was a farm laborer for many years traveling throughout California during the peak times of various crops; in her later years she found her gift, which was to be a care giver to those who requested her, she did that until she became ill herself in 2008. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, decoupage painting and traveling. Antonia was very tolerant and forgiving; always had a warm plate of delicious food for her guest. Antonia was a faithful servant and a longtime member of Primera Iglesia BaptistaChurch in Shafter Antonia E. Beltran is preceded in death by her loving husband Augustine Beltran (1997); children Elaine and Michael Beltran; survived by her sons Augustine Beltran III, Richard Beltran, Daniel Beltran and Timothy Beltran; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; numerous friends and extended family members that will miss her soft spirit and smile. Pastor Raul Moreno will officiate a 10 am Chapel Service for Antonia Escalante Beltran, age 81, of Shafter, on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Peters Funeral Home with interment immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 5 to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home
