Anselmo Prado was born April 21, 1934 in Mesquitez, Nayarit, Mexico to Francisco and Gregoria (Hernandez) Prado. He married Maria de Jesus Zepeda June 15, 1955. Anselmo worked as a farmer in Mexico and moved his family to Lamont in 1988. He worked in agriculture on various farms and then retired from Grimway in 2001. Anselmo loved to dance and listen to music. Mariachi and Banda music were his favorite. He was always happy and loved to make everyone laugh. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maria Prado; sons, Miguel Prado and wife Sandra, Timoteo Prado and wife Leticia, Joaquin Prado and wife Andrea and Jose Prado and wife Consuelo; daughters, Alejandra Prado and Matilda Navarro and husband Paul; sisters, Olalia Nunez and Felipa Prado of Mexico; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Wednesday, February 27 at 6pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary Lamont for Anselmo Prado who passed away February 24, 2008 in Bakersfield. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, February 28 at 10am at St. Augustine's Church, Lamont. Fr. John Schmoll will officiate the services and interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
