Obituary

Angelin W. Peters was born April 4, 1934 in Dinuba, California to Ben & Sarah Peters. She attended Grandview Elementary School and graduated from Immanuel High School in Reedley with the Class of 1952. She went on to attend Taber College in Hillsboro, Kansas. After college she moved to Denver, Colorado until she returned to Fresno. She worked as a secretary for various businesses and in 1967 began her 33 year-long career with the Fresno Service Center of the Internal Revenue Service retiring in 2000. Music and singing were an important part of her life and she made many friends while singing with the Sweet Adelines. She was the family photographer, recording the family history in pictures during all the holidays and important events. Her other interests included spending time at Pismo Beach in her RV and family get-togethers. She was the loving aunt who introduced her nieces to lipstick and nail polish and was lovingly teased by her nephews for her inventive casseroles. All her nieces and nephews knew of her devoted love and concern for them and her desire for their happiness. She was survived by her brothers, John Peters of Porterville, Clarence Peters and wife Martha of Shafter; nieces and nephews, John Peters & wife Jackie, Carolyn Peters, Cheryl Woody & husband Richard, Marlin Peters & wife Roberta, Leslie Peters & wife Kim, Frank Peters & wife Cindy, Gaylene Cox & husband Russell and Glenn Peters; and long-time companion Stanley Keispert of Fresno. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Peters and nephew Loren Peters. A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter, was held Wed., January 17 at 2pm at Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno for Angelin Warkentin Peters, age 72, of Fresno who passed away January 12, in Reedley. Pastor ___ of the Peoples Church of Fresno officiated the service and interment followed. Visitation were held Tues., Jan. 16 from 5-8pm and Wed., Jan. 17 from 9am – noon at Stephens and Bean 202 N.
