Obituary

Angela Borjon passed away on February 14, 2012 in Modesto. Angela was born on April 23, 1915 in Azusa to Theodore and Enedina (Olague) Villegas. She graduated from Wasco High in 1933. After high school, Angela worked for the Giddings family and then the Postal Service. She met John Borjon and they married in 1941. Angela and John had two children together, Patricia (Borjon) Worley and Stephen Borjon. John passed away in 1980 and her son, Stephen in 1982. Angela was a loving and devoted mother and housewife. She was very active in the 4H Club all the years her daughter was a member and always involved with her children's school activities. She attended St. John's Catholic Church in Wasco. In her free time, Angela who had a green thumb could always be found tending to her roses, iris, and other flowers and fruit trees. She devoted herself to being the very best grandmother to Pat's children, Jeff and Lisa, and staying close with all of her extended family. In later years, Angela became active in the Wasco Historical Society, even making it onto the evening news for a special segment on one occasion. She participated in many activities and trips with the Wasco Senior Citizen Center, venturing to Hawaii and the World's Fair in 1986. She enjoyed daily walks and meeting with her knitting group, "The Happy Hookers", an example of Angela's jovial personality and sense of humor. While Angela's childhood was not an easy one, she demonstrated strength and resilience, living a very happy, long, and fulfilled life thanks to her positive attitude, strong faith, and overall zest of life. Angela was preceded in death by her husband John, son Steve, her father, Theodore Villegas, and her mother, Enedina Olague, brothers, AJ and Joe Villegas, and sisters, Georgia Borjon and her husband Frank, and Bea Zuniga. She is survived by her daughter Pat Worley and son-in-law Mike of Patterson, grandson, Jeff and his wife Vivien of Fresno, and granddaughter Lisa of Walnut Creek. She also had two loving great-grandchildren, Isabella and Michael of Fresno, who could always put a smile on her face. The family is grateful to the loving care she received at Cypress Assisted Living Center in Turlock where she lived for over seven years. A funeral mass will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Wasco on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 10am and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Wasco Community Scholarship Association, the Wasco Historical Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
