Obituary

Ana Maria Zamora passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in Bakersfield, CA. Ana was born on July 3, 1959 in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan, Mexico to Benjamin and Maria del Refugio Zamora. Ana moved to Wasco in 1977 at the age of 18 to start her own family. Her four children, Marco, Ernesto, Ana Elisa, and Sandra were born and raised in Wasco. Ana began working in her early twenties to help support her growing family. She worked as a field laborer for 30 years. Ana was a lovable person who loved making new friends. She would always go out of her way to help others. Ana was a great mother who raised 4 wonderful children. She was a great cook, some of her children's favorite dishes were oven baked chicken and tamales. Her oven baked chicken even replaced the traditional turkey for Thanksgiving every year. Ana is preceeded in death by her mother, Maria del Refugio (Paz) Zamora; and her brother, Benjamin Zamora Paz. She is survived by her father, Benjamin Zamora; sons, Marco and Ernesto Rios; daughters, Ana Elisa Rios and Sandra Rodriguez Rios; sisters, Adela Cabrera, Marta Candela, Maria del Refugio Zamora, Librada Zamora, and Delfina Zamora; 12 grandchildren and 1 on the way; and many more family members and close friends. Visitation for Ana Maria Zamora will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 2-8: pm at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco with the recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 7pm. Mass will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10am at St. John Catholic Church in Wasco with the interment to follow at Wasco Memorial Park
