Obituary

A service will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 8 at Evangelical Free Church in Yucca Valley, Pastor Bill Wilcox officiating, for Amber Larich. A native of Auburn and lifelong resident of California who lived in Yucca Valley 23 years, Mrs. Larich died Jan. 19, 2009, at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs due to liver failure. She was 51 years old. The daughter of Wilfred Starkey and Mary Zierenberg Romero, she was born Oct. 1, 1957. Mrs. Larich was a clerk for United States Postal Service from 1978 to 1990. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church of Yucca Valley. Mrs. Larich was a Native American, a member of United Auburn Indian Community — Miwok tribe. Mrs. Larich was married for 27 1/2 years to Tony Larich; a resident of Yucca Valley, he survives her in death. She also is survived by sons Domenic Larich of Redlands, Santino Larich and Vincenzo Larich, both of Yucca Valley, and Arthur Martinez of Selma; grandchildren Janessa, Arthur Jr. and Donavyn Martinez; brothers Bill, Leonard and Hoyt Starkey; and sisters Elda Starkey and Sarah Lucky. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial donations of canned food or money be made to the Way Station food bank of Joshua Tree.
