Alyne Gragg was born July 18, 1927 to Cora (Chilton) and Benjamin Young in Berwyn, Oklahoma, one of 12 children. Alyne moved to California at the age of 20, and married Roland D. Gragg in 1948 in Sanger. They moved to the Shafter area in 1959. Roland passed away in 1984. Alyne married R.L. Gragg in 1986 and he passed away in 1998. Alyne worked as a carrot packer for Belridge Farms for 27 years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and dominos. Alyne was a very sweet woman, the type of person that everybody loved. Alyne was a member of the 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God for 45 years. Alyne is survived by her son, Doug Gragg and wife Linda; daughter, Sharon and husband Kirk Perkins; step-daughters, Linda and husband Tommy Delgado and Paula Martinez; brother, Royce Young and wife Rita; sister, Joyce and husband Jim Maxey; grandchildren, Toni and husband Kevin Layne, Neil Hamilton, Stacey Hamilton, Walter Perkins and wife Tammy, Michael Perkins and Zenia and husband Larry Rocha; step-grandchildren, Vance Delgado, Vincent Delgado, John Delgado, Kelly Delgado, Brandon Martinez, Nicole Martinez, Anthony Martinez; great grandchildren, Danielle Layne, Dominic Perkins, Damian Perkins and Elisa Perkins. Alyne was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and nine siblings. Funeral services will be held at the 7th Standard Pentecostal Church of God, 32186 7th Standard Road, on Tuesday, April 5 at 10am for Alyne Gragg, age, 83, who passed away April 1, 2011 in Bakersfield. Brother Jim Glasco will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, April 04, 2011 from 2pm to 8pm at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
