Alvin Henry Nikkel (April 12, 1927 – May 7, 2013). Alvin was born to Henry H and Agatha Nikkel in Shafter, California, and passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday evening. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Minnie; son Ron and wife Angela of Bear Valley Springs; son Gerald and wife Judy of Madera; daughter Minnal Hummel and husband Craig of Bear Valley Springs; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Kathy Frantz of Shafter and June Stoesz of Minnesota. Alvin was born and raised in Shafter and worked for Thriftimart markets in Bakersfield for most of his adult life. Memorial services to celebrate Alvin's life will be Monday, May 13, 11:00 a.m. at Laurelglen Bible Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
