Alvin R. Lepp September 27, 1932 – February 19, 2016 Alvin Lepp went to heaven on Friday, February 19, 2016. Alvin was born September 27, 1932 to Frank and Matilda Lepp in Dalhart, Texas. He was raised in Orland, California where he attended elementary and high school. Alvin met his wife, Iva Koenig at Fresno Pacific College in 1951. They were married in July 1953. Alvin spent 2 years in Tacoma, Washington with the U.S. Army followed by service in the reserves. Alvin and Iva moved to Shafter, California after serving in the Army. Alvin worked in a cabinet shop for several years and then became a building contractor. In his later years, he worked at the church and enjoyed doing repairs and visiting with friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Kreger. Survivors include his wife Iva; son, Wayne and wife Sandy Lepp; daughter, Karen Anderson; son-in-law, Tom Kreger; granddaughters, Monica and husband Michael and Genee and husband Derrick; and great grandsons, Mathew, Jacob and Trevor. A memorial service for Alvin will take place March 5, 2015 at 11:00am at Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts in Alvin's memory be made to the Shafter MB Youth programs or to Gideon's International.
