IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Beth
Eastland
December 17, 1940 – June 29, 2023
Alice Beth Eastland, 82, of Lamont, California passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2023,
surrounded by her loved ones. Graveside funeral services for Alice will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Friday, July 21st, at South Kern Cemetery District 15543 South Vineland Rd. Arvin, CA also
known as Arvin Cemetery.
Alice was born on December 17th, 1940, to Linton and Lessie Campbell of Weedpatch,
California. She was the oldest of three and was a loving sister to her two younger brothers. Alice
attended grade school in Weedpatch and graduated from Arvin High School in 1958. Shortly
after high school she married her high school sweetheart Bill Eastland. Together, Ali and Bill
owned and operated Eastland's Flying Service and their grey and yellow airplanes could
frequently be seen flying over the many crops in the Kern County area. In the years following
high school, Alice obtained her cosmetology license and began her career as a hairstylist. Alice
enjoyed styling her family members hair as well as her many regular customers that became
more like family.
Alice and Bill enjoyed the company of many lifelong friends. To her friends, she was known as
the 'life of the party.' Throughout her life she also enjoyed cooking, baking, golfing, and
bowling. In retirement she worked at the Sycamore Canyon Golf Course and bowled regularly in
the 'Oldies But Goodies" league on the 'Misfits' team.
Alice was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend. The
family and friends that continue to love and honor her are her devoted husband of 62 years, Bill
Eastland and their beloved dog Katy, brothers Vene and wife Janet Campbell, Terry and wife
Charlotte Campbell, her nephews Aaron Campbell (children Kade, Savanna, and Griffen) and
Craig Campbell, her nieces Devon Modlin (husband Brad and children Presley and Brady) and
Shannon Barger (husband Jim and children Dylan and Makynna). Alice was predeceased in life
by her son Michael Eastland who she adored and missed very much.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held for friends and family to join at 1:00 p.m. following
the ceremony at Rice Bowl 1119 18th St. Bakersfield, CA.
Alice will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
