Alfonso Sanchez Estrada May 27, 1959 – January 27, 2009 Alfonso was born May 27, 1959 in Jalisco, Mexico where he was raised and attended school through college. He had been a resident of Shafter for the last 25 years and had worked as floor man at United States Cold Storage for 15 years. Before that he worked for Bear Creek. Alfonso married Raquel Salinas September 4, 1992. Alfonso was known for his sense of humor and joking. His favorite pastime was watching novellas on TV. Alfonso is survived by his wife, Raquel; daughter, Lizzeth Estrada and companion David Guerra; granddaughters, Angie, Veronica and Esmeralda Guerra, all of Shafter; and several brothers and sisters living in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside funeral service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10am at Shafter Memorial Park. Fr. Ralph Bellomini will officiate the service and interment will follow. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 2pm – 8pm.
