Obituary

Alejandra Villa Pizana was born on April 24, 1923 in Big Springs, Texas to Nasaria Morales and Ramon Villa. She was known to those who knew and loved her as "Canda". She was the oldest daughter in a family of 14 children. Grandma Canda is preceded in death by her parents: Nasaria and Ramon Villa; her brothers: Francisco Villa, Sotero Villa, Manuel Villa, Bobby Villa, Casey Villa, and Ramon Villa; sisters, Francisca Villa, Genoveva Villa, and Lupita Villa. Her 3 children, her loving daughter, Mary Lou Resendez and husband Eddie Resendez, son, Victor Pizana and wife Pam Pizana and son, Alfredo Pizana, survive Alejandra. Her grandchildren include the Resendez Family: Anna Luisa Garcia, Genevie Resendez, Eddie Resendez, and Gabriel Resendez. She is survived by 10 beautiful great-grand children. Her three loving sisters, Martina Marez, Mona Pilson, and Lupe Aragon survive Alejandra. The family tree's branches spread long and wide with wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Canda moved from Texas to California where she spent her young adult life, it was here that she met her first love, Benito Ruiz and gave birth to her first child, daughter Mary Lou. After returning back to her Texan Roots, Alejandra later re-married and gave birth to sons: Victor and Alfredo Pizana. After re-locating back to California they made their permanent home in Lamont, California. It was here that she created such wonderful friendships within the small community. She was loved by all who knew her. Her strong personality gave her strength in times of need. Throughout her trials and tribulations, Alejandra was never a quitter. She was known to have a fighting spirit. She fought her illness into her old age. She stayed strong never complaining of her suffering. Her strength was admired by those who visited her daily. Grandma Canda will be truly missed. She gave those close to her a reason to live. We will always remember her smile and laughter. Even though her body frame was fragile and petite, her love was immeasurable. She was our "tiny-tiny" grandma. The Resendez Family would like to thank the staff of Corinthian Gardens Care Center. They provided much care and attention to our beloved Mother and Grandmother. An evening service will be held Tuesday, June 26 at 7pm at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 10am Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary, Lamont for Alejandra Pizana, age 84, who passed away June 21, in Bakersfield.
