Obituary

Alan Ray Menser entered eternal life on September 20, 2018 at his home in Bakersfield. He was a loving husband, caring father, and proud papa. Alan was born in San Luis Obispo, California on October 18, 1950 to beloved parents Melvin Menser and Billie (Stinnett) Menser. Alan was raised in Wasco and attended local schools where he played baseball and graduated from Wasco Union High School. He joined the Navy in 1975 when he was drafted to Vietnam and was awarded service medals. Alan worked for Wasco State Prison after the war and continued to work at the prison for 21 years. Alan participated in motorcycle charity events which donated to Vets and children in Kern County. Alan will be missed and loved by all who knew him. Alan is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cindy Menser; daughters, Katie Menser and Allison McConnell; stepchildren; and many grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Stinnett Johnson; parents Melvin and Billie Menser; sister, Linda Waters, and uncle, Willard Stinnett. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11am at Wasco Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 9am-11am at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, Ca.
